Hi, welcome to the Daily Spin. I'm Steve, the owner of inlineskates.com, and with us today is Mike Powell, the skate guru, straight in from K2 headquarters in Seattle, right, Mike? Yes, sir. Thanks for joining us. Thanks for having me. And let's talk about the K2 Skate Hero X Pro. Did I get that right? You got it right. First time. Okay. So, we got the Skate Hero which is one of the key models but this is third model up in the line. Yes.And we've got the X which I think is something special and we got the Pro, okay? So, we'll kind of grow through, I guess, all those different features one-by-one. Let's first start talking about the adjustability so all K2 Skates are adjustable but let's show the audience exactly what that means. Yes. So, all of our kid's skates are adjustable.
You get 5 full sizes of adjustability at the push of a button, very easy to use. You push this button, 5 full sizes, it allows the skate to last for a few years for your kids. Grows with a kid's skate...Grows with their feet...as their feet grow. So, lacing system on this one so you've got 3 different kinds of closure systems. Yep, so you've got your Powerstrap, you've got your ratcheting buckle and the most exciting part of this skate in closure is the Speedlace system here. It gets your kid in and out of a skate quick. A parent or kid just needs to put the foot in, pull up on here, you've got a locking mechanism that's going to keep the skate snug down here throughout the foot and let's see... Better send it to voicemail. Mom, mom, I'm talking about the Skate Hero Pro. I am...yeah, no, we're talking about its Hi-Lo system, the lace features but I'm on video, mom, I gotta go. Okay. Sorry, I had to answer. No problem. No problem. How's your mom? She's great and she loves this skate.
Okay, well tell us more about it. So, the Hi-Lo system here on this skate is That's 72mm in the front wheels, 76 in the back. What it does it creates a low center of balance, gets that kid in a great skating position and it's just a more stable way to build a skate for a new skater. Because the back is higher because the heel is typically higher and the front is lower so that allows us...give a bigger wheel in the back for more speed and get the low to the ground. Yes, exactly. So, it's actually the wheels all, you know, still touch in the same area so there is no ramp angle. We actually cheat the wheels up here to keep the kid lower to the ground and just make their center of balance, their center of gravity a little lower. Makes it easier to stay up. I actually think that's probably the best looking kid's skate that I've seen so far. It's a looker. Yeah, it's a great looking skate. We kind of look at our adult skates and model them down for kids so mom and dad have the same kind of skates as kids. It's a family thing and this is the Skate Hero X Pro.
Okay. Did we miss anything? But other than that, Steve, we didn't miss anything else. Okay, so tell us, Mike, while I button my shirt here, tell us who this skate is ideal for. It's great for, you know, the new skater or someone who has had a pair of skates that weren't really a high end pair of skates and they want to get into a performance model to skate. This skate is a real inline skate just like every skate that K2 makes. It give the performance and support and comfort that's needed to really go out there and have a good time. So this really does give the kid the kind of more performance so they can become good faster, start to get better at inline skating. Yeah, I mean we want to make sure they're in a product that's going to take them to the next level and every skate that we make is geared to do that. Yep, and just a few $10-20 more than the model below it, it really gives them a lot of extra features for the money. Yeah, you definitely, you think of upgrading. Especially if they last for another 2 or 3 years. I think it's kind of a bargain. Yeah, it's a no-brainer. So, there you have it. That's the K2 Skate Hero X Pro. Thanks, Mike. Oh, you're welcome. And thanks for joining us on the Daily Spin.
