Hi, welcome to the Daily Spin. I'm Steve, the owner of inlineskates.com, and with us is Steve Charrier, president of Rollerblade. Hi Steve. Hello Steve. And we're going to talk about the Rollerblade Spitfire XT. This is pretty exciting for a kid's skate. First of all, this is the girl's and you have the boy's. I think this is a sharp looking skate. But there's also some interesting things going on. Obviously this has adjustability, can you show us how that works? Yeah, it's 4 size adjustable, Steve, which makes it 4 skates in 1. Just by pushing the button right here, you can slide the skate forward like that and it clicks right out. You can see right here, it's 2, 3, 4 and 5. So, it just grows with your child. Yeah, so it's like 4 skates for the price of 1. So, talk about this boot, this is a really firm-feeling, solid boot.
The Spitfire has been hugely successful for the last 4 years. It offers a lot of support, like squeeze the cuff on that skate, you can feel it. Yeah, it's firm. So, it gives kids the support they need. It's easy to put on. There's a buckle closure. There's a lace lock in here that kids can pull up on the lace. You don't have to tie it, you just slide this thing down and locks into place. Pull up on it, slide this down... That's a big advantage. ...and there's a Velcro strap to hold the kid back in the heel there so kids can put them on themselves, it's really supportive, really comfortable and it's just a nice balance of high-quality kid's skate. Okay, I notice there's a lot screens on this skate. Here, here, here. Is that designed to keep the bugs out? It's venting. Oh venting. To keep it cooler, yeah, and keep bugs out too. You don't want bugs in your skates. So this skate will allow the kid's foot to sweat and move the air through it and keep it cooler. Yeah, on a hot summer day. It has a 72mm wheel and it's just a good quality well-balanced, all-around successful skate. Very comfortable too. Yeah, no, I think this is a great skate and, for the price...you can upgrade the wheel also on this to a 76, right? It will hold up to a 76 wheel on the frame.
So, if the child is looking for a little more performance as they get better they can upgrade the wheel while they upgrade the size as well. And we always say this is the type of skate that their little brother and younger brother as well are going to use, it's not going to be disposable. So, we've kind of talked about it but who is the ideal kid for this skate? It's for anyone learning to inline skate or who can skate. So, a beginner can use this skate? Yep, beginner. Intermediate? Yep, who wants a high quality product. So, there you have it. That's the Rollerblade Spitfire XT. One of the best-selling kid's skates of all time, right? It is. And thanks for joining us on this edition of the Daily Spin.
