Welcome to the Daily Spin. I'm Steve, the owner of inlineskates.com, and with me today is another Steve. Steve Charrier - president and skate guru at Rollerblade. Thanks for joining us, Steve. Thank you for having me. So, what skate do you have in front of you today? We have the Zetrablade here. And I've go the women's version and you've got the men's. So, this is the first price in the Rollerblade line of skates, correct? It is. But it's a really good quality skate for that, kind of, beginner.

Let's kind of go through it. Now, one of the things I noticed on this is it has what's called a monocoque construction where the skate and the frame are kind of one mold, correct? It is. It's one piece. Can you explain that? Well, the key to the Zetrablade is it's a really supportive product so if you're learning to skate, this skate is gonna really hold you firmly and give you the support you need as you learn to get around and learn how to inline skate so the monocoque construction actually adds to the strength of the skate. So, the whole skate's really like one piece. Yep, this whole low part is one piece so it's really strong and... And then obviously support. Now, for people who haven't Rollerbladed before, once you get these skate on at home, it's actually very easy to stand up, right? Between the lace, and the Powerstrap and the upper buckle. Upper buckle here and all that. Help me out here a little. So, the skate's really comfortable, Steve. It's going to feel great on your foot. You're going to feel secure and solid on there and those are the things you need when you're learning how to skate, learning how to stop.

Now these don't go too fast because a beginner doesn't really want to go too fast on a skate. It has an 80mm wheel and an SG5 bearing so it's going to roll nicely but it's not going to go too fast for that new skater. Now, I've got the women's skate, you've got the men's. Other than the coloration, is there much difference between the two? This skate, the women's skate is going to have a women's fit to it, and we'll talk about that, but all Rollerblade skates, women's skates, are specifically designed on a women's last. And a women's last is what? Means the instep is going to be a little higher, the heel's going to be narrower, the cuff is a little bit lower, and it's got a little more of a forward position to it. So, a female really doesn't want to buy a men's skate, she wants a skate that's more... It's going to fit a lot better. And that's something unique to Rollerblade is that all of our women's skates have a women's specific fit. Okay, great. Anything else you want to add? Just that the skate is really good for braking. All of that support I was talking about helps you learn how to stop and brake and that's something that's a big concern to a new skater. So, there you have it. This is the Rollerblade Zetrablade. Women's, men's. Thanks for joining us today on the Daily Spin.
