Hey, welcome to the Daily Spin. I'm Rob from inlineskates.com joined today by Mike from K2. Mike, thanks for being here. Hey, thanks for having me.
So, we're talking about the Raider Pro and the Marlee Pro. Raider Pro on the boys side, Marlee Pro on the girls side. Really great skates in the junior lineup. What's really the first feature that jumps out at you with these skates? Well, the first feature that jumps out is the Original Soft Boot and that's the way that K2 has built our skates from day one. We kind of looked at the inline skate market and said, everybody's building skates like ski boots, we're going to build skates like high-performance pieces of footwear and we're going to make skates more comfortable than they've ever been before. And you've got the Original Soft Boot technology built in this skate here. Which is such an important feature, especially for kids. If it's not comfortable the kid's not gonna want to skate and then you're just gonna have skates sitting in your closet and not doing anything, collecting dust. That's correct. Another incredibly important features, especially on a junior skate is the fact that these skates are adjustable. Yeah, so you get 5 full sizes of adjustability with the push of the button. That means your skate is going to last longer than 1 season, probably longer than 2 seasons. For sure, and then also very important for kids learning the sport, a lot of support here and then a really easy lacing system for them to use.
Yep, so you get the Stability Plus Cuff which is really going to give a ton of support, like you said, which is going to make your child skate, learn how to skate a little bit faster. It's going to give them the support they need to stand up right and then the closure system, while it's great for your child, it's even better for the parents because when you get a kid set up to go out and inline skate if you just have your standard lace out there, I mean, it could be a 5 minute process of putting on the skate per child. When you get em in a quicklace, it's literally put their foot in, you pull this quicklace, they are dialed, you're in and out of your skate in about a minute and a half and that really does speed up the process for parents and it's, ya know, I got a 5 year old and this thing is a life saver. Absolutely. And now moving down the skate, composite frame on this, right? Yep, we got with a composite frame on this skate and why we do that is a composite frame sucks up a lot of road vibration, for the new skater it's really gonna make that feel, that skating motion feel a little bit smoother, a little bit easier and it's just the way to go for your new skater. Absolutely. So, what, who is this skate geared towards? This is, ya know, it's for your newer skater. It's for parents that look at, you know, the Raider Marlee and Raider Marlee Pro and they said they wanted to upgrade to a better lacing system and a little bit bigger of a wheel so it's still for that new skater but you get the 72mm wheel and you get the speedlace system. So, it's a little bit more convenience. For sure, so the Raider Pro and the Marlee Pro are also available in packs which will come with knees, elbows and wrist guards so you can buy it just as a skate or you can buy it as the pack that will come with the pads and you can check them out on inlineskates.com and thanks for joining us on the Daily Spin.
