The Bladerunner Performa ABT inline skates are a great quality skate with loads of features geared towards the beginner to intermediate skater. The Performa ABT has a stylish look and is fast and comfortable. Bladerunner products are built with everything that counts for comfort, performance and durability backed by the trusted Rollerblade name. Featuring a comfortable and soft boot with buckle, powerstrap and lace closure to provide you with a secure and comfortable fit. The composite frame and ABEC 5 bearings will provide you with a nice smooth roll. A micro-adjustable ABT braking system allows you to get improved, gradual stopping power. Performance, exercise, and fun on a budget. Where's the quality you ask? Well, that part is a given with the Rollerblade name.
ABT (Active Brake Technology) is an intuitive braking system designed to help beginner to intermediate skaters. The ABT brake system works with the cuff of the skate to allow skaters to apply the brake while keeping all the wheels on the ground. The brake arm is attached to the cuff of the skate so when a skater leans back to apply the brake, the brake will automatically lower to touch the ground while the wheels remain grounded as well.
I bought skates several years ago. The wheels were hard and felt like they would stumble over any little obstacle. I read up a bit on what to look for in the wheels. And decided that this would be as close to what I was looking for without trying harder. I love the skates and I almost want to get a pair for my husband too. He has a pair like my old ones. e
I have tried to wear these skates twice and after wearing them for 5 minutes, my feet are numb! I thought they may get better if I broke them in, but I can't keep them on long enough to accomplish that! There are pressure points inside of them that cause my feet a ton of pain. I am so disappointed because I really wanted to find a pair of rollerblades with the ABT brakes, like my old ones :(
Bought these skates for my 14 year old daughter. She has a wider foot and the size 9 skates were perfect for her size 8.5 foot. They fit securely and comfortably and the ABT system is a plus. A good skate for the money.
I was skeptical to purchase these skates since the other reviewer gave them such bad remarks, but the price was right so I decided to give them a whirl. These skates are great for recreational use. My 6 year old wanted me to skate with him on our cul-de-sac so I didn't want to invest too much money in skates for the short distances/time I would be using them. I found these Bladerunner skates to be comfortable and easy to skate in. Just the ticket for keeping up with my little guy.
Q: Is the braking system the type where you don't have to lift your foot in front in order to engage the brake? I had some skates where the brake would adjust so that all you had to do is move your right foot forward, and the brake engaged without having to lift the front of your foot. I want those skates again and hope that this is the right one. Thanks.
