Q: Must admit "sizing" makes no sense to me. I'm told my nearly 7 year old daughter wears a size thirteen shoe, but when she tried on skates in a store an "adjustable size 1-4" seemed to fit her. Thirteen sounds nowhere close to 1-4, how can this be? Is there any way I can order skates with some confidence that it will fit by translating normal shoe size to whatever it is that the skating community is using?

A: That indeed sounds correct, as little kids/youth size shoes go from a size Y8 through Y13, then start over at big kids/adults size 1 and go up. If your daughter wears a size Y13, chances are pretty good that an adjustable Bladerunner Phoenix skate in the 1 to 4 size (which starts at it's lowest size only a size up) will work well for her, as well as give her the most room to grow into them. If you look towards the bottom of the Guide to Buying Kids skates, there is a size chart that translates all sizes out for you as well.

Q: I'm 28 year old. But my feet are very tiny un size 5, and it is really hard for me to find shoes and so skates. I tired this on buy I'm not sure since they are for little girls and I'm afraid that they may not support my weight 127 pounds. My question is would you recommend me getting these girl's skates? Thanks so much!

A: At your size, you may be too heavy to use a girls skate such as the Bladerunner Phoenis Adjustable skate. We carry many womens models in a size 5.0 that would be a more suitable choice for you.
