eCommerce Site Experience Specialist

Job Description:

Summit Sports, Inc. is hiring for an eCommerce Site Experience Specialist to work at our Corporate Office in Bloomfield Hills, MI. We operate 6 websites selling anything from Skis to Snowboards, Inline Skates to Camp Gear and Water Sports Equipment to Apparel. The eCommerce Site Experience Specialist is responsible for the upkeep of our websites and assisting the Marketing, Development and Management team goals make it to our websites.

Your Day as an eCommerce Site Experience Specialist:

This is not a techie or programming position, you will, for the most part, implement changes on web platforms and backend sites to reflect the look of our websites. Most work is completed using our web platform user interface with fields and settings to fill in and update to complete tasks. Often the use of spreadsheets, checklists, and supplied documentation for tasks is used, but creative thinking is also needed and encouraged.

  • Keep the ecommerce sites current and accurate.
  • Help maintain a consistent look and feel throughout all websites.
  • Setting up, testing and removing promotions per marketing department’s request.
  • Work closely with the Marketing, Creative, and IT teams to discuss tasks, prepare required documents, and gather required assets.
  • Work with Customer Service Department to inform in advance of site changes. Take feedback/bugs/issues they receive from our customers and resolve quickly.
  • Analyze sales, traffic and site data to catch trends or issues in order to recommend changes that will benefit the strategic direction of the company.
  • Participate in brainstorming and creative thinking for new ideas/solutions.
  • Assist the Development Team in implementing and testing website updates and enhancements.
  • Use competitive comparisons to suggest new or revised functionality.
  • Create and follow-up on job tickets using JIRA and occasionally file support tickets with our 3rd party teams using their ticket systems.

Qualifications or What We’re Looking For In You:

  • Able to work full-time.
  • Preferably someone that skis and/or snowboards is requested, but not required. 1-2 years work experience in web/retail requested - sporting goods/action wear is a plus.
  • Pursuing/Received an undergraduate degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a degree that promotes analytical/technical abilities a plus.
  • Very detail-oriented
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Team oriented
  • Willingness to learn all aspects of the business as needed
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and precisely with internal teams and outside vendors.
  • Quick-learner, able to think independently and know how to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of any of the following is a plus: Demandware, Google Analytics, Digital Marketing, simple Image Editing, HTML, XML, JavaScript, SQL, MS Access.

Internet Customer Service Representative

Job Description

Our Customer Care Department is open 6 days a week. As our holiday season draws nearer our hours of operation will be extended. However, right now we are open:

Monday-Wednesday: 10AM-6PM
Thursday-Saturday: 10AM-5PM

Primary Responsibilities:

A typical day entails answering inbound calls, e-mails and live chat inquires from customers regarding; new orders, order status, returns, inventory availability and product details. All of our orders are reviewed daily or multiple times, depending on the sensitivity of their status. Outbound calls and e-mails are a part of this review process so we may keep our customers as up-to-date as possible. Internal communication is also a significant activity in our department. A day doesn't pass where we don't talk to our store locations, warehouses, buyers, website development, and web content teams. This level of communication helps us to constantly improve our way of life and the overall flow of our productivity. Customer Care is on the front lines for our company and the customer experience is our highest priority.

Required skills/qualifications:

  • You must actively participate in Downhill Skiing, Snowboarding, Kayaking, Hockey or Inline Skating and have general knowledge of the equipment needed for the sport.
  • Have great verbal and written communication.
  • Have a general understanding of computers and the internet.

Shipping Associate

Job Description

The Shipping Associate will perform a variety of routine shipping tasks. They will pick and pack orders for internet customers as defined by the pick ticket and will ship in accordance with the specified shipping requirements. They will verify that the material is correct as defined by its label (i.e. part number, color, size, etc.). This position reports directly to the Shipping Director or in his/her absence, to the Assistant Shipping Manager(s). Shipping Associates need to have excellent organization skills, enabling them to quickly locate merchandise for distribution or placement within the warehouse.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately and efficiently pull, stage, and load orders; padding, wrapping as necessary.
  • Ensure all products are shipped in good physical condition and are prepared so as to arrive in the same condition.
  • Work with Supervisor to organize the warehouse and maintain a safe and productive environment.
  • Report supply needs and/or equipment breakdowns to supervisor or lead.
  • Operate a pallet jack and possible forklift.
  • Prepare orders for shipment in accordance with the pick ticket and customer requirements.
  • Package and ship in accordance with packaging guidelines and accepted methods/practices.
  • Monitor packaging material supplies and notify the Manager when materials get to the restocking point.
  • Support receiving/shipping to unload/receive material as required.
  • Perform housekeeping duties in areas assigned.
  • Support a proactive safety environment, with emphasis on good housekeeping techniques.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Effective communication/comprehension skills - verbal and written.
  • Math Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
