A:Yes, you can skate indoors with this skate. This skate comes with an 80A Durometer (Durometer is the hardness rating used on the wheel) wheel which can be used for both indoor or outdoor skating. If you do skate indoors with the skates it's best to only skate indoors on them, or purchase a second set of wheels. You will run into issues skating outdoors and then going and skating indoors as you pick up dirt and debris when skating outdoors and when you then go and skate indoors you will lose traction due to the wheels now being rougher after picking up debris outdoors. Many indoor rinks will not allow skates that have been used outdoors.
A:This skate will be fairly easy to skate backwards with. The wheels offered are smaller and give beginners good control over the skates. If you are a very beginner skater it is a good idea to watch how to videos, or even better see if there are any skating lessons being taught near you. If you feel you need additional help balancing while learning to skate backwards a cheap hockey stick will do the trick. Happy skating!
A:Generally for very beginner skaters, 78mm to 80mm wheels tend to be the easiest to learn and get started on. The K2 Kinetic 78 will be an excellent learning model for your husband and should be very easy for him to get into the sport with.
