Comments about K2 Kinetic 80 Womens Inline Skates 2014:

I am a beginner skater, and I purchased these skates for fitness purposes. They are comfortable and very stylish. These skates did not disappoint! The skates are light weight, true to size, and provide a smooth glide when skating. The quality of the skates are very good, I really love everything about them.
I was originally going to purchase the K2 Athena skates, however, the speed lace on the Kinetic sold me. I don't want to fuss with laces when I am on the go, and ready to skate. Great product, I highly recommend it.

Hi, I have bought roller blades before but the wheels were hard, they did not have rubber on the wheels to grip the floor. Do these blades have rubber wheels?

Do the bearings on these skates have rockers that can be adjusted? I like to skate outside and adjust my front rocker to account for road debri.

Is this break safe? Like when i need to stop is it easy to control and fast to stop? Also, is it quick to ketch onto if you're a beginner? I need to know soon because i'm ordering tonight. Thank you!

          A:

Braking with the K2 Kinetic 80 skates, as with all inline skates, is a learning process but is fairly quick to pick up on. How quickly you will pick up on inline skating all depends on you and how quickly you learn, but is typically fairly easy to learn how to do, especially with the right skates (these Kinetics would be a great starting choice).

I am wondering the big differences between the kinetic and Athena for K2 blades. I am ordering tonight and wondering why Athena starts out at such a higher price? What am I getting for the price?
        thanks!

        • Staff Reviewer

          A:

The Athena will have a slightly more durable frame and will provide a bit more support, as the exoskeletal frame will be stiffer. Outside of that however the K2 Kinetic 80 and the Athena will be nearly identical.

are these heavy? light? what is the weight?
I have a pair from another brand that I barely use because they are too heavy and hurt my shins and calves.
