Comments about Rollerblade Maxxum 90 Urban Inline Skates 2014:

I have been skating for 20 years on inline skates and am very confident in my ability. After deciding to finally spend money on a really good pair of skates I picked these. They are more than I ever could have hoped for. They fit great, roll great and just the general feeling of smoothness they convey is phenomenal.
I do have to say that the mixture of these wheels and bearings are a lot. By which I mean they kind of made me feel like a beginner again with how smooth and fast they are. It's not a bad thing at all, in fact it was rather refreshing. Every enthusiast or die hard skater should own a pair of these.

Comments about Rollerblade Maxxum 90 Urban Inline Skates 2014:

Having been out of the loop on inline skating for 15+ years, I decided to get back into it. Rollerblade had been the brand of choice back in the day so I ordered up a few pairs to try on.

I noticed that they were smaller than the true size since they had such a snug fit. I was surprised how uncomfortable they were and thought that it must be because they were too snug. I ordered larger sizes and when I got them, they fit but they were still really uncomfortable (I don't have some irregular shaped feet).
I found myself not wanting to go rollerblading because of the pain associated with the skates. I thought maybe I just had to go through a break-in period but it was so awful I decided that I had to either try another brand or not get back into inline skating.

Inlineskates.com provided great customer service and are very knowledgeable. When I explained the situation to them, they said it could be because the Maxxum 90 is a "hard shell" boot meaning it's a rigid plastic and that they don't really break in over time.
They said K2 makes a soft boot and perhaps I could try them so I went ahead and ordered the "K2 Vo2 90 Boa" skates. When I tried them on, I immediately had a smile on my face as they fit like a glove. Good cushioning, but not excessive and not a single point on my foot was uncomfortable. The bonus which got me even more excited was the boa lace-less system which makes it so easy to get a nice tight fit with the twist of the dial and when I'm taking them off, I can fully open the tongue out with ease.
I truly LOVE these skates and am glad that inlineskates.com suggested them. I can't imagine a more comfortable skate and that continues to be my thought after more than 30 miles on them.
I have no affiliation with any of the companies but I felt the need to share my experience since it was like night and day. Have fun out there!

Comments about Rollerblade Maxxum 90 Urban Inline Skates 2014:

As the title states, I am a washed up aggressive skater. I have gotten older and no longer wish to jump gaps, grind rails or spend hours at the skate park. But I still love skating. After trying out a pair of regular recreational inline skates and hating the lack of hard support and the longer chassis I saw these and decided to give them a try. I have been skating nearly every night after work with these since receiving them and I am in love. The harder boot and shorter chassis give me the support I need with the maneuverability I want. At first they felt a bit uncomfortable but after breaking them in with a few times skating, they are feeling Grrrrreat (said in Tony the tiger voice). I don't have a wide foot and they fit me snug as a glove so they may not be best for those with a wider foot. Personally, these skates have resurrected my love for skating from the deathly hallows of ugly ill fitting recreational skates. I highly recommend especially for washed up aggressive skaters looking for a bulletproof skate to exercise in.

Comments about Rollerblade Maxxum 90 Urban Inline Skates 2014:

I did my homework. I was looking for a solid molded boot design because I have been skating for over 20 years and was used to this. I also didnt see the other style lasting the 17 years my last similar pair of Rollerblades did( the strap broke) These are VERY similar to my last pair. Solid boot, good heavy duty removable liner, solid adjustable straps. The only thing I wish they had was 3 straps instead of two and laces at toe. Also, I'm not sure how well these micro adjustable straps are going to hold up- a bit flimsy. To be expected I guess these were not made in Italy like my old pair. Cost me the same $250 17 years ago and that would be about $650 in today's $'s. Don't quote me on math but you get the idea. I do recommend these as they are the best available.

Comments about Rollerblade Maxxum 90 Urban Inline Skates 2014:

I wanted a skate that provided the flexibility of a cross trainer, urban, and exercise skate. The Maxxum 90 fits the bill for all of these categories.
It has been many years since I have been on skates. I wanted to increase my physical activity recently and thought about how much I used to enjoy inline skating.
I did some shopping around and decided the Maxxum 90 fit all of my criteria. I was not wrong, absolutely love this skate.
The boot has great lateral support, the padded liner is fantastic, and the wheel size is just perfect for the speed I was looking for in a skate. I highly recommend this skate to anyone looking for great speed, comfort and mobility.
The wheel size does reduce the flexibility a bit, but nothing I will miss.

I have rolled a RB Maxxum macroblade with 80mm 82d wheels for 16 years and currently skate a 13mile rr trail course 4 times per week in Kirkwood MO...I do this as a work out depending on wind I roll in the mid teens mph. Will switching to 90mm cause considerable speed/workload difference?(TOO fast or to easy) Can I switch to 84mm or 80mm wheels if needed in future?
              Thanks for your help..

                A:

Going to 90mm wheels will indeed give you speed and make the number (and ease) of your strides much less, making them a more effective workout model. You can potentially swap out the wheels on the Rollerblade Maxxum 90 skates with smaller wheels including 84mm and 80mm, however you will need to make sure that it has enough clearance beneath the brake level so that you are not constantly dragging the brake (or remove the brake housing entirely).

              Hi,

I’m looking for a pair of fitness skates to use on my running off days. Plan on just using them for fitness skating and possible either 45 minutes to an hour or up to 13 miles per outing. I’ve used inline skates in the past but wanted something in the larger wheel size that’ll last me a couple of years before upgrading to 100mm.

My question is, for longer rides(10+ miles), is this an comfortable boot? Or is something like the VO2 Boa 90 better suited for that?

I did see the one Q&A regarding ordering to size. What if foot is say a EE width, should I still order to size or go up a 1/2 size?

Yes, if you wear a EE width shoe go a half size larger in the Rollerblade Maxxum 90 skates. After they break in they should provide a perfect fit that way for you.

With the Maxxum 90 skates, as with all Rollerblade models, you should order true to your shoe size. If you wear a size 11.0 shoe, go for the skates in a size 11.0 as well.

            • Q:

Hi! I'm a novice skater but I learn very fast. I've decided to choose a more advanced skate to grow into rather than novice oriented which I will surely grow out of quite soon. So, Maxxum 90. I mostly intend to skate on the streets (60-80% of the time), sometimes in the park (40-20% of the time). So 90mm won't be as hard for a novice, as 110, they will give me plenty of maneuverability (though not as much as 80 or 84, but that's okay, I'm not going to be very technical).

The question! Am I mostly right or completely mistaken in my choice of 'blades?
The question 2! My Mondopoint sizing is exactly 27.9, which size of the 'blades should I get? 10 or 10.5? I won't be able to exchange once I buy them, because they will be bought for me by a friend in US and sent via airmail to Georgia (country).

It sounds like you have done your research. From what you have said these will be perfect for you. As for the size at almost a 28.0 in mondo point the 10.0 would be the best fit for you.
