Comments about Rollerblade Spiritblade Comp Inline Skates 2013:

I got a pair of Spirtblades after a long layoff from skating. My last skates were the old Lightning TRS, which gives you an idea how far back I go. When I was thinking about returning to skating, I didn't want to drop a lot of money at first; I wanted to see if: 1) I still liked it; and 2) if my knees would hold up. They have.

What's good about the Spiritblade is that you get a lot of skate for the money. It also does what it's designed to do; that is to say that it's perfect for the new skater or the skater returning to the sport after a long term layoff.

That said, the Spiritblade feels a bit slow. I think that could be due to the following: 1) soft boot construction; 2) plastic frame; and 3) small, soft wheels. My Spiritblade came with 78mm, 80A wheels. These aren't fast skates.

In closing, the Spiritblade offers a lot of skate and features for the money. If you're either new to skating, or are a returning skater like me, the Spiritblade will get you started right. However, what makes it a good skate for new and returning skaters are the same things that hamper you as your skill level increases. If you're looking to get started in skating, the Spiritblade will get you off on the right foot... ;)

    • Q:

i am a 21 yr old girl looking to buy a pair of blades :) these would be my first but I saw your youtube channel and I'm a size 11 with a wider foot. My thing is, since I have a larger womens size, would my mens size work?

so for instance, can I buy these in a size 9 mens for my 11 womens wide foot? or any blade for that matter since 9 mens is so much easier to find. please and thank you!

        A:

With the Rollerblade Spiritblade Comp skates, as with all mens inline skates, you can certainly go down a full size to accommodate a womens size. For a size 11.0 wide womens shoe go with a 10.0 Spiritblade for the best fit.

Can these handle a 370lb man with tree trunks for ankles?

        A:

At 370 lbs, you will be looking for a skate that has a metal frame, as opposed to the composite plastic frame of the Rollerblade Spiritblade Comps. I would recommend a different model than this.
