I got the Tempest 90 Inline Skates because it occurred to me just how kick-a.. rollerblading was. I had been very experienced rollerblading and took a few year hiatus (it helped that I ice-skated quite frequently). But I was looking for an advanced skate that would really take my skating to the next level - and these were the ones. You can really cut fast with these and just shred. The skates are VERY comfortable - I took them out for a 5 hour skate session in the city and had absolutely no trouble with any pain or cramping. The skate is very secure and can be easily changed to your liking. I have since then skated over 50 miles in these in a few weeks. No issues whatsoever.
The skate is also awesome for quick spins (180's, 360's) and jumps... PS - It was an immense pain in the a.. to take off the back brake. I am not sure if there is an actual way of doing it but I was able to take it off with some brute force.
Overall, these skates are absolutely awesome. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for some fast-paced skate sessions. Five stars.
Have had mine about three months and logged 100+ miles on regular to slightly rough asphault. These are my upgrade from a pair of K2 Moto 84's which are good for technical stuff, but these are so much faster and more comfortable on regular trails. They also have a solid frame (my K2 rattles - no way to tighten it.) Just be aware that these are primarily fitness skates - lower profile boot and faster bearings means that you should be past the rollerblade technical practice phase. With a tailwind and a level trail, these things MOVE. It takes a few minutes to get dialed in with the unusual lacing, but once you're set you're be comfortable for several hours.
This is a great pair of high-quality fitness skates. I have a wide (E) foot and the boots fit very comfortably. The large wheels and great bearings make for a smooth ride. If you are used to a higher boot, these will take a few times out to get used to them. It is very easy to ratchet them down for a tighter fit while you on them. These are a little more complicated to get in and out of than my previous skates were, but the great fit makes it worth while.
A: The frames on the Tempest 90 do offer some lateral adjustment capability to help with pronation. The insole is removable and you'll be free to make any adjustments you see fit for orthotics, footbeds, etc.
