Had K2 Camano skates that were 15 years old and I absolutely loved them. Figured it was time to get new ones and opted for the Athena. It took awhile to get used to the skate being higher on the ankle but once they were broken in, they were...Read More

Q: How do you remove the bearings for cleaning?
Asked : Mar 14, 2017
By : Sean, Saint Louis, MO
Know the answer? Answer this question

A:You will need to have a skate tool with a bearing popper. There are many to choose from including the Rollerblade 3-in-One tool and the Sonic Pro skate tool. You can locate these on the site by searching for "skate tool" in the top site search. These tools have a bearing popper on them which is a specifically sized tool that can be pushed into the wheel's bearing and pop or pull the bearing out.

Q: I wear size 6 shoes. What size of rollerblades should I get? I recently ordered a pair of rollerblades (not this brand) in size 6 and it was way too big. I am concerned because other reviewers are saying that this pair fits true to size.
Asked : Aug 21, 2015
By : Kim, Bellingham, Washington
Know the answer? Answer this question

A:These skates do fit true to size in length and are ideal for medium to narrow foot widths. If you typically wear a size 6 athletic shoe a size 6 should be the correct length for you.

Q: Hi- Is the brake removable?
Asked : Feb 28, 2015
By : Ali, San Francisco CA
Know the answer? Answer this question

A:Yes, the brake is removable. In the box you will find a replacement axle which is shorter than axle used with the braking system. You will want to remove the axle for the last wheel which holds the brake on, remove the brake system, and replace the axle with the shorter axle without the braking system. You will find full instructions in the box to do so. Any questions, don't hesitate to contact our customer care team @ 800-754-7266

Q: I would like to use these skates as recreation/fitness, but it is suggested that I use a larger wheel for fitness. Can these wheels be changed to 84mm?
Asked : Jun 27, 2014
By : GG, Philadelphia, PA
Know the answer? Answer this question

A:The K2 Athena womens skates will only be able to hold a maximum wheel size of 80mm. I would recommend taking a look at the Alexis Boa's instead, as they will come with with 84mm wheel initially and can be upgraded to a 90mm wheel if you want to upgrade.

Q: I have a pretty narrow/long foot, and am looking for an in-line skate for recreational/fitness use. Would the athena be a good option?
Asked : May 10, 2014
By : GiGi, PDX, OR
Know the answer? Answer this question

A:The K2 Athena skates will make a solid entry level skate for the recreational skater. At only 80mm in the wheels however they may not make the most ideal fitness skate. You should look towards the Alexis or another model with a slightly larger wheel/maximum wheel size for a good combination recreational/fitness model.
