Hi, welcome to the Daily Spin. I'm Steve. I'm the owner of and joining us today is the skate guru from K2, direct from Seattle, Mike. How are you, Mike? I'm great. Thanks for having me. And in front of the Ferarri. This is the fast one, right? It is the fast one. This is the K2 VO2 100 X Pro. You guys couldn't put a few more words onto that title? We had about four more words, we had to cut them off. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6....all right, let's talk about this skate. So, we got a lot going on here. We've got a great boot, we've got a great ventilation system, we've got a great wheel just take it over. Tell us all about it. All right, yeah, so you know, we'll start here with the closure system. You know, you have your Powerstrap here that's going ot keep your heel in the heel pocket. Very important. And then you have your ratcheting buckle here. What's great with this skate is it comes with K2 Speedlace system. So, with this, you have a handle here. You get your foot in the skate, you give it a 1 tug on the handle. A locking mechanism here holds that lace in place so you've tightened your skate from your forefoot all the way up and that's just...this closure system works very, very well. It also enables you to shift on the fly when you're on the trail. Just reach down, pull up and if your skate loosens up a little, give a little tug to that closure and you're going to get tightened up. Tight skate is the right skate. That is right. You're a poet.

So, when we look at performance on this skate we're going to look at the bottom of the skate. But before I get there, I'm going to talk about the Vortech Ventilation system. Please do. So, this Vortech Ventilation system is the way that we keep your foot nice, dry and cool. It's a series of channels and vents that run through the foot. So, you can see the ports up here in front, there's ports on both sides. Air is going to be forced through those and out these exhaust ports through the channels underneath the skate. What does that do, Steve? It gets your foot dry. It's like a blow dryer for your feet. Yeah, without the power. It's all human power there. Right. So, the blow dryer for your feet is there and the Vortech Ventilation system and then you get to the performance of this nice, long frame- This VO2.2 frame is amazing at going fast and remaining stable. This is a skate you want to go really fast on the trail with. You're going to fly by people on it. You've also got a Hi-Lo system which is great. So, you've got our performance Hi-Lo frame with this 2 100mm wheels in the back, 2 90mm wheels in the front. What does that do for you? Well, it gives you the high speeds of the 100mm wheel in the back. You got a bigger wheel that's going to roll over stuff but you still want to maneuver a little bit, so you put the smaller wheels in front - the 2 90s. It's going to allow for maneuverability as well as speed on the trail and that's really what you're looking for in this skate. And the bearing you were talking about bearing? The ILQ 9? I didn't yet but I will. It's the ILQ 9 Classic Plus and that is from the Twin Cam company and they've engineered, it's the only bearing that's engineered for inline skating so...

Yeah, so can you explain to us what's different about this bearing? It looks the same as other bearings from the outside but what's different on the inside? It's all about balls, Steve. Big balls. Yeah? We've got 6 bigger balls in here with tighter tolerances... We're talking about 6 balls in each bearing? Yeah. Times how many bearings? Times, you know, you've got two on each wheels so.. 12 balls. Yeah. Times 8 wheels. That's like 96 balls! Yeah, that sounds like a party. It's a lot of balls. Anyway, it is a lot of balls but the tolerant is here... You sure you're okay here, Mike, to continue? Yeah, I think I'll be able to make it through. But what it does it really just creates a smooth roll and allows you to hit really fast speeds. Yeah, in all seriousness. This has got a great boot, phenomenal ventilation system, keeps your feet dry. Aluminum frame - nice and stiff, good transfer of power, great wheel, Hi-Lo, high-end bearing, this is the Ferarri. And, I mean, if you want to look at, you know, the person that's skating it, you know the guy who is always trying to be out in front of everybody else. If you're running or doing anything else and he always wants to be in front? That's the guy that's buying this skate. So, this is the Ferarri. Yeah. That's a cue for you. This is a cue for me. It is a Ferarri and for a Ferarri, I have some special Ferarri glasses that I will pull out, Steve, from 1985. All right, now give us your real Ferarri sound. What happens when this skate goes fast? There you go! That's it. This is the skate so there you go, folks, that's the K2 VO2 100 X Pro. Did we tell them everything they need to know about it? I think we did. Yep, this is the Ferarri not the Cadillac. Just don't forget to breathe. Thanks for joining us on this edition of the Daily Spin. Have a great day.
