Hi, welcome to the Daily Spin. I'm Steve, the owner of, and with me today is Mike Powell. Mike is the K2 skate expert. From K2. Yes. In Seattle? Yes, in Seattle. And in front of me is the K2 Varsity. Now this is no JV skate, is it? No, it's not. This is full-blown varsity. Yep. Letters. Varsity jacket. It's a starter right there. It's not only on varsity, it's the starting team. This is their full-on aggressive skate. Let's kind of go through the features on this skate.

Well, first and foremost, the Varsity is known as one of the lightest aggressive skates on the market. But it's still a tank. It is a tank. It's meant to take a beating, you know, but it is, compared to a lot of the other skates out there it's pretty light which is great for jumps and gaps and different things that you're doing. When you look at this skate there's some features you really need to look at. First is this aggressive cuff. This is the most supportive cuff in the K2 line and it's really going to give the ankle support you need for landing big things because when you land, if you're landing not flat on your wheels, and your ankles are going out, you want to make sure that you have that ankle support just to keep your foot in one piece. And then this huge Sole Frame. So it's a fully replaceable Sole Frame. You can see lots of area to grind on the sole side, on the negative side, so any kind of trick you want to do is possible to do. You get the K2 UFS aggressive frame so removable frame. So, any other UFS frame can fit on there as well. Exactly, so you can customize it there. And then you get a 55mm wheel and an ABEC 5 bearing. What this skate is, it's been known for is being one of the most comfortable, one of the most durable and one of the best aggressive skates to ever hit the market. When K2 started making Softboots that were aggressive skates, it really changed the way that people looked at skates and I think you can see the style, fit and function of this skate really exceeds anything else that's out there. And the K2 Softboot aggressive skate's been around for, what, 10-15 years now so it proves that it works.

Oh yeah, it's definitely had a history and tried-and-true this skate is a successful one. Say that again? Successful one. Very good. Thank you. So, who is the ideal customer for this skate? Anyone who likes to skate parks. Ledges, rails, half-pipes. Any kind of aggressive skating. I wouldn't recommend it for someone who wants to skate distance because 55mm wheels is a lot of work. Yeah, it's kind of a hard, small wheel for going long distance. Yeah, but anybody who wants to skate parks, grind, ledges, rails, this is the weapon of choice. All right, so if you're ready for the varsity team, this is the skate for you, the K2 Varsity. And, this has been Mike. I'm Steve. And thanks for joining us on this edition of the Daily Spin.
