The Twister Edge 110 3WD from Rollerblade is a great versatile skate with 3WD technology. Twister molded boots started the urban skate category and continue to be one of the bestselling skates in the market. It changes the game once again for urban skating (and skating in general) with a new design, fit and level of versatility to continue its reign as the benchmark skate in the urban skate industry. The design, shell, cuff and liner work together to create a superior anatomical fit. There is a Premium liner with specialized footbed and shock absorber that will give you a comfortable fit. The sole is designed with an Anti-Torsion Box for the skates to be more efficient with increased control and stiffness and it has aluminum plates built in for torsional rigidity with the frame. The 3WD frame and Hydrogen wheels round out this top of the line skate with speed. Molded skates are known to be durable in any urban environment, trail or secret skate spot one may have.

Q: What would be the advantages of going with the twister edge 110 over the rb 110? I see that the twister edge has better bearings but anything other than that ? Thanks, Bryan

A: Yes, there are some differences in the two that gives the Twister Edge the edge over the RB110. These differences are the Twister Edge has an upgraded liner, wheels, bearings, and the overall boot and buckles are upgraded. It really depends on the skating you are doing and what is most important to you, for the hardcore skater looking for the best 3 wheeled urban on the market the answer is the Edge, for the skater looking for an advanced level skate that can be pushed to the limits but maybe they don't feel they need the top of the line the RB 110 really hits on a lot of key features and can save you some dough at the end of the day.

Q: which skates are most suitable for very wide feet?

A: I probably wouldn't go with the Twister series since it has a hard plastic boot and can tend to fit a bit on the narrow side. I've had success fitting those with wide feet into a soft sided K2 or Rollerblade skate. Both these brands make several softer boot style skates that can be tight out of the box but will break in over time. You can also add an aftermarket footbed or a heel lift to customize your fit. A heel lift works well for those with very wide feet as it can lift the foot up and alleviate some of the side to side pressure in the skates, sometimes when using a heel lift it can be advised to go up a 1/2 size. All in all you just have to deal with the break in process which can take a handful of times skating.
